I'm going to show a super easy trick to remember the formulae of photosynthesis. You will never have to remember it the difficult way again. And the great thing is you don't have to learn any single thing new to keep this formulae in mind. Let's start off and break down this equation into simple steps and use some tricks to remember them.

First lets, take the left side of the equation : 6 CO2 + 6 H20 now in simple words this is just:

6 carbon dioxide and 6 water

Which is fairly easy to keep in mind,  because we know, we need to water plants to make them grow, and they do absorb carbon dioxide to release oxygen.

Next we know that plant converts oxygen and water to -> glucose and oxygen

Which is, again, fairly easy to keep in mind because, obviously plants need glucose to grow and its common knowledge that plants absorb carbon dioxide to release oxygen

If you carefully observe the equation you can see that the number '6' appears on each of the compounds.

6 CO2 - has a 6 in front!

6 H2O - has a 6 in front!!

6 O2 - has a 6 in front!!! (right side)

Interesting!!! lets rename Photosynthesis to Photosynthesix (imagine)

Photosynthesis -> PhotosyntheSIX

Now we learned all 3 out of 4 compounds in the equation.

Here are the basic facts that everyone knows that can be used along with the secret word 'PhotosyntheSIX' to write down the equation from scratch.

  • We need to water plants to help them grow
  • Plants absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen (equal amount). Which is vital for our planet.
  • Plants grow and they need glucose to keep growing.
